Google Could Introduce A Nexus 6 With Smartwatch Later This Year

Google Could Introduce A Nexus 6 With Smartwatch Later This Year

With the Galaxy S5 revealed and the iPhone 6 still months away,
the rumor mill is setting its sights on the next Nexus, or perhaps
Nexii, if you believe the latest word out of Europe that Google
and LG are working together on a Nexus 6 to be introduced at
the same time as a Nexus smartwatch in the second half of this year.
report out of Germany claims that LG and Google will team up
again for the successor to the Nexus 5 after a pretty successful run
collaborating on the last two Nexus smartphones and the Google Play
edition LG G Pad. Android head Sundar Pichai confirmed that the new
Nexus was in the works to a French site last month.
Just as we initially heard the Nexus 5 was based on the LG G2, the
German report says the Nexus 5 will resemble a stripped-down LG G3,
which has yet to be officially announced. I’ll be taking this with a grain of salt,
as in the case of the Nexus 5 it seemed as though Google’s engineers
weighed in pretty heavily on the final design, and the Nexus 5 wound up
being pretty different from the G2 in a number of ways.

It nonetheless makes sense that Google would be looking into different
wearable form factors, but I’m also still left wondering when the masses
might finally get a chance to don Google Glass, which we’ve been seeing
and hearing about for much longer than the Google smartwatch at this point. Not surprisingly, Lenovo, which is in the process of purchasing Motorola from
Google, does not appear to have anything to do with the next Nexus. The
same report also suggests that Google could be working with LG on a

smartwatch to be released alongside the Nexus 6. Interesting that Google
might consider mimicking Samsung’s approach to bundling the flagship
phone and watch given that there’s been no real proven market demand for such wearables just yet.
The date to mark on the calendar for now would seem to be June 25 – 26
when Google holds its I/O conference and we’re likely to hear about some,
or all, of these new products.

"Nexus 6" Google Nexus 6 Smartphone Built by LG

Google Nexus 6 Smartphone Built by LG – A Low-Calorie LG G3? Reports suggest Google will once again be teaming with LG to build its Nexus 6 Smartphone this year, which will apparently materialize as a stripped-back version of the LG G3 flagship For fans of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 Smartphones, this weekend brings delightful if not entirely surprising news. Reports are doing the rounds that Google has once again decided not to tinker too much with a winning recipe and will thus be sticking with LG for the unannounced Nexus 6 Smartphone, which is apparently scheduled for a July launch. This time around, we have the folks atGizmodo Germany to thank for the good news, which largely confirms what the majority of us had assumed all along. Some had insisted that Google would tap into its Motorola wing to put the Nexus 6 together, but the smart money had always been on another LG collaboration and it’s looking like this will indeed be the case. In terms of exactly what t...

"Android Wear launcher" Install the Android Wear launcher on your Android device

Earlier this week  Google announced Android Wear , the platform that's going to bring  Android  to more wearables in the very near future. Along with the announcement, it also released a developer preview of the operating system for developers to begin working magic with. Naturally the preview included an emulator for devs to preview their work on. It didn't take long for the emulator to be extracted and turned into an installable APK for Android devices. What this means for curious Android users running  Android 4.4  and above is that you can install the Android Wear launcher on your device right now. As  Android Police  reported last night, the launcher isn't a complete replacement for your current launcher. Instead, it's more of a brief preview of how Android Wear will handle notifications. Swiping up and down on the screen will allow you to scroll through your current notifications. A swipe to the left will reveal options to for hand...
